"Toi et moi"
by Jill Caplan
La vie sera western
Ou ne sera pas
On va de dizaine en dizaine
On n’y croyait pas
On est si enfants
On est si craquants
Nous, sur un air de banjo
Entre deux balles perdues
On refera le Balajo
S’il n’y en avait plus
On est si enfants
Juste un rêve d’enfant
On est toi et moi
Des millions de toi et moi
Des petites misères
Coincées entre deux guerres
Tu verras, un jour
On s’aimera d’amour
Il faut y croire
Chante avec moi!
La vie sera western
Ou ne sera pas
Il faudra nager à l’indienne
À la force des bras
Toi et moi, oh, oh
On saura nager à l’indienne
Je ne m’en fais pas
On est si enfant
Juste un rêve d’enfant
On est toi et moi
Des millions de toi et moi
Des petites misères
À l’âme chevalière
Tu vera un jour
La plus belle histoire d’amour
Toi et moi, toi et moi
Oui, on sera un jour
La plus belle histoire d’amour
Oh, toi et moi
Juste un rêve d’enfant
On est toi et moi
Des millions de toi et moi
On sera un jour
La plus belle histoire d’amour
Il faut y croire
Chante avec moi!

Happy Easter! Looove that Easter bonnet!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, you are sooo cute! I think you should reproduce that outfit in grown up version, complete with hat, and go paint the white town red!
ReplyDeleteWe toasted you at lunch time with some of that Puerto Rican rum you left us. Easter hugs to you both.
ReplyDeleteAh...there you are. Happy slightly-belated Easter, Ms. and Mr. Pliers! Been thinking about you but hadn't followed through. We'll be in the same time zone as of Wednesday, so a closer connection will be in order.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Of course I've got no room to talk--have been neglecting my blog too while distracted by other things.
ReplyDeleteSara,
ReplyDeleteI am willing to wager that there is just such a photo floating around in the Archive of sweet little you all dressed up for Sunday school in that same small Oklahoma town.
Happy Easter to the Boyle Clan!
Stickup Artist,
ReplyDeleteI stuck to a more sober Rennie Mackintosh-inspired design for my costume of the day and rather than painting the town red I photographed the countryside green on my way to a couple of hours of strolling around une brocante (French for swap meet, in reality, if not in the original sense of the word).
I live for the day that you will be doing the same here because I can just imagine the sensory overload that you are going to experience when your eyes encounter the visual smorgasbord laid out everywhere you look!
I came away with several books in French, one in English, 2 lovely cups with saucers--shiny black w/gold trim w/a dusty rose interior in one and a turquoise interior in the other. I can hardly wait to drink my coffee this morning.
I also brought home an Englishman... Of course, he is certainly long dead, as he was photographically memorialized in B&W wearing his full WWI regalia, gazing at the photographer with a touching sobriety.
I think of him as the protagonist, Inspector John Madden, in Rennie Airth's "River of Darkness." Now I just have to find the right place for him to lodge.
Today is actually le lundi de Pâques, Easter Monday, a holiday, in France so there is another brocante in Belâbre located not too far away from Le Blanc about which I was informed by a woman I ran into in L'Angles whom I originally met a year ago in Ciron at a bustling little brocante there. Spring in central France is, as you can see, synonymous with broncanting!
English Rider,
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, I remember that rum... Makes drinking Coke an obligation. Hopefully, you were doing all this toasting in the midst of celebrating the birthday of a Lovely Daughter--to whom I sent my own virtual greetings, early, typically!
Deborah,
ReplyDeleteCanada is lucky to have had you for such a long, family- and friend-filled stay this time around. I'll be looking forward to hearing how summer is shaping up for you upon your return to France!
Pat,
ReplyDeleteIf memory serves, you have been involved in mounting an art exhibit, among other things. I hope that all is going well and that you have a lovely spring and summer ahead of you!
Oh those photos are just darling - the joy in that smile!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tatty Tiara, for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteAn awesome post with wonderful pics and even video!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fantastic!
Thank you, kind sir. I enjoyed my visit to your garden equally.
